In the spirit of full disclosure and transparency, we would like to thank the Dallas Boat Show for complimentary admission to the show. We maintain that all opinions remain our own and that the descriptions reported here reflect an accurate depiction of our experience.

We’re taking a quick detour from our standard ratings system for a quick peak behind the curtain of our recent boat show experience. We’ll casually hit a few of the highlights, and don’t worry, we’ll get back to the Boat Rankings format you’re used to again next time.

The Boats are Back

During the peak of Covid-19, most regional boat shows were cancelled or moved to virtual formats. Similarly, the Dallas Boat Show (www.dallasboatexpo.com) took a hiatus for a period, building the excitement for resuming the shows for boating-hungry audiences.

The Dallas Boat Show, always among the best regional boat shows, is highlighted here on Boat Rankings for several reasons.

First, most of the major brands in the boating industry are represented, pulling together a powerhouse of expertise under one roof. Also, several Texas-area suppliers and boating equipment sellers further boost the show’s value with location-specific support.

If you want to boat in Texas, you’re going to want to see what’s available here.

A Few Show Highlights

Texas is known for it’s large portions of hospitality, and we experienced nothing but friendly encounters here. Believe it or not, that has not always been the experience at other boat shows where the focus seems to be pushing products rather than genuinely providing a rewarding experience for guests.

At the time of our visit, the Dallas Boat Show was busy and active, though not overly crowded. This allowed more individual time with the various boating representatives, dealers, and vendors. Often overlooked, the time spent speaking with these professionals is one of the most underrated aspects of any Boat Show.

We did find that the website for the show (www.dallasboatexpo.com) left something to be desired, however. Although basic information including show dates and ability to buy tickets was present, there were few other bells and whistles to add to originality.

However, the bells and whistles were plentiful within the Show itself. The boats on display highlighted the versatility of the boating industry in 2024. For example, guests could enjoy bass-pumping boat audio systems then stroll over to exclusive show deals on personal watercraft. The sparkle of the latest marine products was second only to the sheen on top-end surf riders.

Beyond the boats and products, boating-themed experiences and even real-estate opportunities near local lakes were available for purchase. If you’re into the water life, it’s hard not to start envisioning yourself relaxing waterside at some of the premier local destinations.

Standouts in 2024

The Boat Monkey owner and founder Josh

A few vendors caught our eye at this year’s show. Josh Reasor, Owner/Founder of The Boat Monkey, shared the story of how his uniquely named apparel line came to serve customers with variety, convenience, and originality.

Grab a Boat Monkey shirt, swimwear, cooler, and you’re all set for a great day out on the water.

The folks over at Ventura Experience had a welcoming display of boats including the popular V300. Their brand ambassadors were highly knowledgeable and able to really highlight the fresh attention to the user experience infused in every Ventura boat. Take, for example, the deep-set bow seating space for improved sightlines that any captain would appreciate.

We were impressed with Ventura’s transition from Brazil into the US marketplace, maintaining their established experience while still bring fresh innovation that will feel invigorating to US-based customers.

If their demo models at the Show are any indication, be on the lookout for Ventura as a rising star in several of our Boat Rankings categories.

Wrap Up

As one of the best regional boat shows, the Dallas Boat Show offers a very wide range of boats and boating products for attendees to explore. For those in the industry, it’s a great way to meet fellow boating enthusiasts and big-time names in the boating industry. Next time you’re in Texas, check this one out.
